- Renault India is planning to introduce a new turbocharged CNG model – the Renault Triber Turbo CNG – to strengthen its presence in the growing CNG segment. The current MPV lineup uses a 1.0-litre, three-cylinder naturally aspirated petrol engine (71bhp, 96Nm), but Renault will introduce a 1.0-litre, three-cylinder turbocharged petrol engine delivering 100PS and 160Nm, already powering the Renault Kiger.
- The new Triber turbo will also be offered with a CNG option, featuring a factory-fitted CNG system instead of a dealer-fitted retrofit kit. Renault confirmed a dual-cylinder setup placed under the MPV’s floor to keep boot space uncompromised.
- Renault has re-engineered the CMF-A platform, now called the Renault Group Entry Platform (RGEP), for the turbo CNG powertrain.
- The turbo and CNG versions of the Triber are expected to hit showrooms in September or October, 2026, during the festive season.

Renault India is gearing up to launch the Triber Turbo CNG during the festive season, aiming to capture a share of the expanding CNG market, which accounted for nearly 22 percent of total passenger vehicle sales in FY2026.124
The new model will feature a 1.0-litre turbocharged engine that produces 100PS and 160Nm of torque, enhancing its performance compared to the existing naturally aspirated petrol variant. The Triber Turbo CNG will come with a factory-fitted dual-cylinder CNG system, ensuring that the vehicle's boot space remains uncompromised.
Renault has re-engineered the Triber’s platform, now known as the Renault Group Entry Platform (RGEP), to accommodate this new setup. The anticipated launch is expected in September or October 2026, with pricing likely to be higher than current dealer-fitted CNG kits, which range from ₹69,000 to ₹1.08 lakh depending on the model.3
Currently, the CNG segment is led by Maruti Suzuki with a 70% market share, followed by Tata Motors and Hyundai. With the introduction of the Triber Turbo CNG, Renault aims to strengthen its foothold in this competitive market.
