Police in Kangar have opened a murder investigation following the discovery of a second sack containing human bones, found just 31.1 meters from a previous site where similar remains were uncovered on July 26.5
The latest find occurred on August 5, when a 61-year-old trader clearing land for his daughter stumbled upon the bones protruding from a torn sack.
Kangar police chief Yusharifuddin Yusop reported that the bones were located on reserve land belonging to the Muda Agricultural Development Authority, adjacent to the daughter’s property.
During the inspection, authorities also found a pair of boxer briefs, shorts, and a belt, indicating the items had been at the site for some time.
Yusharifuddin confirmed that both discoveries are being investigated under Section 302 of the Penal Code for murder. He urged anyone with missing relatives to report to the nearest police station or contact investigating officer Tengku Farid Tengku Ibrahim at 019-993-9200.3
The forensic team has sent all evidence to the Sultanah Bahiyah Hospital Forensic Department for analysis, with preliminary results expected within a week.
The police are treating these cases with utmost seriousness, as the community seeks answers regarding the identities of the remains and the circumstances surrounding their discovery.
