Prime Minister Balendra Shah visited Bidur, Nuwakot, to assess the aftermath of catastrophic floods that have resulted in at least 162 fatalities and left over 500 individuals missing, including approximately 300 Indian pilgrims. The floods, described as one of the worst disasters in recent times, were triggered by the Bhotekoshi River overflowing due to heavy rainfall.9
During his visit, Shah attended a briefing at the Shree No. 1 Military Training Centre, where he was joined by key officials including Infrastructure Development Minister Sunil Lamsal and Bagmati Province Chief Minister Kiran Thapamagar. They discussed the urgent need for relief and rehabilitation efforts, as well as the restoration of damaged infrastructure.34
