Peripheral, founded in 2024 by Kelvin Cui and Mustafa Khan, has secured $8.7 million in seed funding, co-led by Inovia Capital and Deloitte Ventures, to enhance its spatial intelligence technology for live sports.127
The funding increases the startup's total to $12.5 million, which includes a previous $3.6 million seed round from May 2025.3
"The demand for immersive, interactive sports experiences is accelerating, and the infrastructure to deliver them at scale doesn't yet exist. That's the problem Peripheral is solving," said Cui.
The company aims to expand its engineering team and accelerate deployments with sports leagues and stadiums, leveraging its technology to create high-quality immersive content.4

Peripheral's technology includes a large reconstruction model (LRM) that transforms 2D images into 3D video for live sports and coaching.5
Additionally, the startup has partnered with the Quantum Sports and Learning Association to establish North America's first biomechanics basketball shooting lab.6
The company plans to launch its first consumer-facing product, a browser-based replay system, later this year.
