Okta acquires AI security startup Permiso for approximately $200 million; deal expected to close in Q3 of fiscal 2027

Okta's acquisition of Permiso, valued at approximately $200 million, is set to enhance its identity security offerings. The deal, expected to close in Q3 of fiscal 2027, is primarily cash-based and aims to bolster Okta's capabilities in detecting identity-based threats.¹³⁵

Permiso, co-founded by former FireEye executives Paul Nguyen and Jason Martin, specializes in identifying suspicious activities in cloud environments, particularly those involving compromised identities. "Permiso will extend Okta's identity security fabric with proven identity threat detection and response capabilities," said Okta's chief product officer Ely Kahn.⁴
