Nvidia's CEO, Jensen Huang, stated, “Together with SK Telecom and SK hynix, we are building a new generation of AI factories that will power Korea’s next wave of growth.”4
The initiative also involves a long-term partnership with SK Hynix to develop next-generation AI memory technologies, addressing the global memory shortage critical for AI systems.
Huang highlighted South Korea's potential, saying, “South Korea has all the ingredients to become a global AI powerhouse — world-class networks and data centers, leadership in chip technology and vast industrial scale.”7
The agreement, formalized at an AI summit in San Francisco, signifies a shift in AI infrastructure development, moving beyond traditional hyperscalers to include major conglomerates and governments.
SK Group Chairman Chey Tae-won remarked, “In the AI era, competitiveness depends not just on how effectively AI is utilized, but on how much intelligence we can produce.”

Nvidia also plans to invest $1 billion into Naver, a Korean cloud company, further expanding its footprint in the region.
