The Nikon Comedy Wildlife Awards have unveiled their 2026 finalists, featuring a record-breaking 10,000 entries from 112 countries. The competition, known for its humorous wildlife photography, supports the Born Free Foundation, which focuses on animal conservation.
This year’s entries include whimsical images such as a sunbird in a banana blossom and a caiman with a rock-and-roll hairstyle. Photographer Thong Duy Vu captured a sunbird in a humorous moment, exclaiming, “Oh my goodness, where did all the water go?” while Paolo Torre described his caiman photo as resembling “a 1950s rock and roll hairstyle.”
The competition also features a People’s Choice Award, allowing the public to vote for their favorite image until March 1, 2027. The winners will be announced on December 8 in London, with the winning images displayed at the Gallery@Oxo from December 9 to 13.
