A massive flash flood struck northern Nepal on Wednesday, wreaking havoc in the Rasuwa district, where villages, vehicles, and infrastructure were swept away. The Bhote Koshi river surged around 9 a.m. local time, leading to significant destruction in Timure and Syapru Besi.
Authorities have warned residents along the riverbanks in Rasuwa, Nuwakot, Dhading, Chitwan, and Gorkha to evacuate to safer areas. The National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Authority (NDRRMA) has urged vigilance as rescue operations are underway, mobilizing the Nepal Army, Armed Police Force, and Nepal Police.
