The judge, Ms Justice Norton, stated that the murder was the culmination of a series of assaults that the pair attempted to conceal.
Evidence revealed that Isabelle had either hit her head against a hard surface or was violently shaken, with the judge noting that her killer may have swung or flung her into a wall or furniture.
The couple delayed seeking medical assistance for Isabelle, and when they finally did, Walker lied to clinicians about the circumstances surrounding her injuries.
Norton remarked that while Walker had cared for Isabelle “appropriately” before June 2025, she was ultimately more focused on her own needs than those of her daughter.
Simpson was sentenced to a minimum of 28 years and six months, while Walker received a minimum of 22 years, both minus time served on remand.4
