Meta’s new Grid Reordering feature for Instagram, launched on June 8, allows users to freely rearrange their posts, enhancing their profile's aesthetic and functionality.
Previously, posts existed in reverse chronological order, limiting creative expression.
Now, users can long-press and drag any post into their preferred sequence, irrespective of when it was uploaded.
Meta stated users can highlight vital projects, rejuvenate older content, and create a more cohesive visual narrative without needing to delete or repost.
“We know this is long overdue, but we wanted to take the time to get it right,” Meta told USA TODAY.
The feature encourages a portfolio-like presentation and offers social teams a cleaner way to manage content priorities, fostering a more dynamic interaction.
“Grid Reordering makes it easier to shape your profile around what feels most relevant to you right now,” the company added.
Importantly, there are no limits on the number of times posts can be reordered, which provides users with greater flexibility to adapt their profile as needed.
“This also gives social teams a cleaner way to support multiple priorities without constantly reposting,” noting that older evergreen posts can now gain renewed visibility. This capability presents users with ample opportunities to refresh their aesthetic and engage audiences more effectively in an increasingly competitive digital landscape.
