Maruti Suzuki Fronx becomes fastest SUV to hit 2 lakh exports in under 38 months; global demand surges

Maruti Suzuki's Fronx SUV has achieved a remarkable milestone by crossing 2 lakh exports in under 38 months, making it the fastest SUV from India to reach this mark. The compact SUV began its export journey in June 2023 and has since expanded its footprint to nearly 90 countries, including Japan.¹²⁵

The Fronx's export journey reflects a significant acceleration in global demand. It took just 25 months to reach its first 1 lakh exports, while the second lakh was achieved in a mere 13 months, nearly halving the time required for the second milestone.³⁶

Hisashi Takeuchi, Managing Director and CEO of Maruti Suzuki India, emphasized the model's growing acceptance in international markets, stating, “Fronx has been a key contributor to Maruti Suzuki’s success in exports.” Since FY 24-25, the Fronx has been recognized as India’s No. 1 exported passenger vehicle.⁴

In the first quarter of FY26-27, the Fronx, along with models like Jimny 5-Door and Baleno, accounted for over 55 percent of all passenger vehicle exports from India, showcasing Maruti Suzuki's dominance in the export market.

Takeuchi added, “Every vehicle exported by Maruti Suzuki carries the hard work and pride of our people.” The Fronx's success is a testament to the strength of Indian manufacturing on the global stage.
