Mchunu, a prominent activist, expressed his disappointment in a six-minute video, asserting that “people cannot march forever” as it could harm the economy. He plans to remain active in the fight against undocumented immigration, despite the suspension.
The fallout from the suspension stems from a high-level meeting involving Mchunu, fellow activist Nkosikhona “Phakel’umthakathi” Ndabandaba, and Ramaphosa, which was conducted without Ngobese-Zuma's knowledge. Movement representative Sandile Dube confirmed that Mchunu holds no official role and cannot cancel any planned marches, emphasizing that the movement's founding principle is to continue demonstrating until South Africans achieve their goals.
Despite the suspension, March and March plans to proceed with its scheduled demonstrations, including a picket in Tshwane in solidarity with Zimbabwean activist Mr Begumbilo, and a march in Limpopo on 30 July.
The movement aims to address the long-standing concerns of residents in the North West province, who have awaited action from the organization.
