Kia has confirmed that the India-spec Sorento will feature all-wheel drive (AWD) alongside hybrid and diesel powertrains ahead of its launch on September 4. The diesel variant will utilize a 2.2-litre engine producing 190bhp and 441Nm, similar to the engine in the Carnival, paired with an eight-speed automatic transmission.2345
The Sorento will be Kia’s largest SUV in India, competing with models like the Volkswagen Tayron and Skoda Kodiaq, and is expected to be priced between Rs. 40 lakh and Rs. 45 lakh. This launch marks a significant expansion of Kia's model range in the Indian market.

The hybrid variant will feature a 1.6-litre turbo-petrol strong-hybrid setup with a 6-speed torque-converter automatic transmission, producing 238hp and 380Nm. Both powertrains will offer AWD, enhancing traction in adverse weather and light off-road conditions.

Kia's new Live Gen AI feature will allow drivers to interact with an AI-powered in-car assistant, enhancing the connected car experience. The Sorento is set to mark Kia India’s entry into the strong hybrid segment, appealing to buyers seeking a premium three-row SUV.
