- July's full Moon, also known as the Buck Moon, will light up the night sky across the UK, peaking at 15:36 BST on July 29.
- Skygazers can view the Buck Moon on the night of July 29, as it will appear as full to the naked eye overnight on Tuesday and Wednesday.
- A Buck Moon kayak trip is planned for Wednesday, launching from Riverside Avenue around sunset, allowing residents to see the moon from sit-on-top kayaks.
- The Buck Moon is named after male deer who regrow their antlers at this time of year.
- The kayak tour will last about two hours and is open to both experienced and beginner kayakers.
- The cost of the Buck Moon Tour is $90, with future Full Moon Tours scheduled for August 28, September 26, and October 26.
The July full Moon, known as the Buck Moon, will reach its peak on 29 July at 15:36 BST. Although the exact moment of fullness will be missed in the UK, it will appear full to the naked eye overnight on 29 July.
Viewing conditions are expected to be favorable across much of the UK, particularly in central, southern, and eastern areas where skies will be largely clear.
In Westport, Connecticut, a special kayak tour will allow residents to experience the Buck Moon from the water. The tour, organized by Sea Kayak Tours, will launch from Riverside Avenue around 8 p.m. on Wednesday, taking participants to Westport Harbor and around the Saugatuck River basin.

“I think what most people enjoy on tours is … they get a sunset in the western sky and then a moon rise in the eastern sky,” said David McPherson, founder of Sea Kayak Tours. The trip is open to both experienced and beginner kayakers and will last about two hours.6
The cost of the Buck Moon Tour is $90, with a guide ratio of one to five to ensure safety and assistance. Future Full Moon Tours are scheduled for August 28 (Sturgeon Moon), September 26 (Corn/Harvest Moon), and October 26 (Hunter’s Moon).
However, showers are forecast for Wednesday evening, and McPherson noted that significant cloud cover or rain could lead to cancellation of the tour.
“The Buck Moon peaks at 15:36 BST on 29 July, but UK skygazers will miss it as the moon is below the horizon; it will appear full overnight. In Westport, a $90 kayak tour on Saugatuck River offers a unique view, with tours limited to 20-25 people.”
