The foreign ministers of Israel and Morocco, Gideon Sa'ar and Nasser Bourita, along with U.S. ambassador to the UN Mike Waltz, agreed to upgrade diplomatic relations by opening embassies and appointing ambassadors in both countries.3
“The declaration we signed today outlines practical steps to elevate relations between Israel and Morocco in a way that serves the interests of both peoples,” Sa'ar stated.
The agreement also includes plans to complete investment protection agreements and prevent double taxation by the end of 2026, aimed at facilitating reciprocal investment and strengthening economic ties.45
Additionally, the countries will hold reciprocal high-level visits and expand air travel, including flights operated by Moroccan airlines, to enhance connectivity.6
“The friendship between the Moroccan and Jewish peoples is deeply rooted in history and has a rich legacy,” Sa'ar added, emphasizing the historical ties that underpin this diplomatic initiative.
