Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi emphasized the need for Muslim unity and self-reliance, highlighting the strength of Iran's armed forces in a recent statement. He noted, “Iran's Powerful Armed Forces have shown their readiness, capability, and might in face of the world's most expensive military.”¹

Araqchi's comments came in the wake of the Mecca Joint Defense Agreement, signed by Saudi Arabia, Turkey, and Pakistan, which establishes a collective-defense framework. This agreement signifies that an attack on one member would be considered an attack on all, aiming to bolster defense cooperation amid rising regional tensions.²⁷

The Iranian foreign minister stated, “When Muslims stand together, we can face every challenge by malicious outsiders head-on,” reinforcing Tehran's call for solidarity among Muslim nations. He concluded with a strong message: “Time to rely only on ourselves and embrace true brotherhood.”³⁹

These remarks follow a period of escalating conflict, particularly the US-Israeli war of aggression against Iran, which has seen Iran retaliate by striking U.S. bases across the Persian Gulf region.
