The sanctions, aimed at cutting off Iran's economic lifeline, notably excluded Chinese banks, which are crucial to Tehran's oil trade.
Economy Minister Ali Madanizadeh emphasized Iran's readiness, asserting, "Naturally, the enemies intend to launch an economic terrorist attack on us, but we also have our own tools and know how to play the game."
He warned that Iran's defense strategy has shifted from being defensive to offensive, indicating potential military responses.
Brigadier General Hossein Mohebbi of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps threatened "heavy blows to US vital interests and energy chokepoints" if Iran's infrastructure is threatened.
The Iranian leadership has also indicated a willingness to reduce oil exports from the Gulf in response to U.S. actions, further escalating tensions in the region.
