President Masoud Pezeshkian emphasized the significance of this event, stating that it serves as a warning to interventionist powers about the supremacy of divine will over military calculations.

This year, Pezeshkian noted a new humiliation for the U.S. as a military operation in southern Isfahan ended in disaster. Iranian forces intercepted American commando units attempting a covert landing, resulting in the destruction of two U.S. C-130 transport planes and two Black Hawk helicopters. In this engagement, Iranian Armed Forces reportedly killed at least five U.S. military personnel, forcing others to flee and abandon sensitive equipment.

Pezeshkian drew parallels between these events, stating, “the God of Tabas’s sands remains the Guardian of this nation.” He called on the world’s arrogant powers to learn from history, emphasizing the limitations of military force against what he termed a higher will.

Historically, the Tabas incident in 1980 demonstrated such limits. During Operation Eagle Claw, U.S. special forces faced unforeseen challenges, including severe sandstorms, which culminated in a catastrophic collision resulting in the loss of eight servicemen. Pezeshkian expressed hope that these historic defeats will continue to serve as critical lessons for powers around the world.
