Gardaí investigate after body of Andrew Haire found at Dublin recycling centre; post-mortem examination conducted as appeals for information on his movements are made

Gardaí are investigating the circumstances surrounding the death of Andrew Haire, 35, whose body was discovered in a recycling facility in Clondalkin, Dublin, on Friday evening.¹³

The remains were found shortly after 9pm, prompting an immediate response from the Office of the Chief State Pathologist and the Garda National Technical Bureau, which assisted in the removal of the body from the scene.⁵

A post-mortem examination was conducted on Saturday, although the results have not been disclosed.²

Authorities have established an incident room at Lucan Garda Station and appointed a Senior Investigating Officer to lead the inquiry. A liaison officer has also been designated to support Mr Haire’s family during this difficult time.⁶

Mr Haire had been utilizing welfare and homeless services in both Dublin and Cork city centres prior to his death.

Gardaí are appealing for information regarding Mr Haire’s movements between July 17 and 24, as it is believed he was present in Dublin, Kilkenny, and Cork during this period.

Greyhound Recycling, the facility where the remains were found, expressed their condolences to Mr Haire’s family and friends in a statement to the Irish Independent.⁷
