India’s defence secretary warns: China-Turkey nexus may back Pakistan’s military moves

India's Defence Secretary Rajesh Kumar Singh has issued a stern warning about a potential China-Turkey alliance that may bolster Pakistan's military maneuvers.

Singh expressed surprise and disapproval over a recent lunch meeting between foreign officials and Pakistan Army Chief General Asim Munir, describing it as "an embarrassment" for Pakistan, where the military wields significant influence over the civilian government.

"It is an embarrassment for a country where the military overshadows the civilian government," Singh remarked, underscoring concerns about Pakistan's internal power dynamics.

Addressing the recent military conflict between India and Pakistan, Singh revealed that Pakistan's military suffered "manifold" losses in terms of both men and material compared to India, highlighting the disparity in outcomes.

Regarding China's role, Singh dismissed any direct involvement in the conflict but hinted at indirect support, suggesting a nuanced form of assistance from Beijing.

"While ruling out direct involvement, he hinted at indirect assistance," Singh noted, pointing to the complex geopolitical interplay in the region.
