Hyundai Motor India achieved record domestic sales in August 2026, with 54,396 units sold, marking a 23.6% year-on-year increase. This figure represents the highest-ever sales for the month, contributing to a total of 65,796 units sold, which is an 8.8% growth overall.14
Despite this success, exports fell by 30.91%, with only 11,400 units shipped compared to 16,500 units in August 2025. The decline is attributed to logistical constraints caused by the ongoing conflict in West Asia, which has disrupted global supply chains and shipping operations.235

Mr. Tarun Garg, MD and CEO of Hyundai Motor India, stated, “We continue to sustain strong growth momentum in FY2027, with domestic sales growing by 12.6% YoY during the April-August period. Our August domestic sales of 54,396 units reflect the popularity of Hyundai’s versatile product portfolio.”6

Garg expressed optimism regarding future export demand, saying, “While total exports in August were impacted by logistical constraints arising from the ongoing conflict in West Asia, we remain optimistic that export demand will continue to be strong in the coming months as the geo-political situation improves.”
The company’s domestic sales growth is expected to continue, especially with plans to launch a new mass-market electric SUV, coinciding with the upcoming festive buying season.7
“Tarun Garg, MD & CEO, said the growth reflects demand for Hyundai's product portfolio, while exports were hit by logistical constraints from the West Asia conflict. The company plans to launch a mass-market electric SUV in coming months to boost festive-season sales.”
