GTA 6 preview airs on Netflix and YouTube as Rockstar unveils first official gameplay, new features and map

Rockstar Games has officially revealed gameplay for *Grand Theft Auto VI* in a 26-minute showcase titled *Grand Theft Auto VI: An Extended Look*, which premiered on Netflix and YouTube. The footage, captured on a base PlayStation 5, introduces players to the game’s protagonists, Jason Duval and Lucia Caminos, who navigate a Bonnie-and-Clyde dynamic amidst a drug deal gone wrong.¹²

Players can switch between Jason and Lucia, who can either develop a romantic relationship or remain partners in crime. The game features a revamped wanted system, where police respond to witness information, tracking suspects by appearance, clothing, and vehicle. Players can manipulate police knowledge by changing outfits or abandoning vehicles.

The game’s map is described as roughly twice the size of *GTA V* and three times that of *Red Dead Redemption 2*, with Vice City itself being around twice the size of Los Santos. Rockstar has also enhanced character interactions, with over 600,000 animations compared to 55,000 in *GTA V* and 300,000 in *Red Dead Redemption 2*.

New gameplay mechanics include elaborate robberies, redesigned vehicle theft, and physical changes affecting the protagonists based on their daily routines. Combat has been expanded with dynamic cover and slow-motion aiming, while the game aims for seamless transitions between gameplay and cinematics. *GTA VI* is set to launch on November 19, 2026, with pre-orders available now, priced at ₹5,999 for the Standard Edition and ₹7,499 for the Ultimate Edition, which includes exclusive content.³⁴
