Google Photos is set to roll out a new feature called
‘Wardrobe’ this summer, designed to transform users' photo libraries into a digital closet. Utilizing
AI technology, Wardrobe will enable users to swiftly organize, mix, and match outfits from their existing garments.
This innovative tool will sort clothing items into categories like
‘Items’ and
‘Outfits’, allowing individuals to save preferred looks and share them with friends. The feature will first be available on
Android devices before being expanded to
iOS users later.
The initial rollout will start with Google Photos identifying clothes and accessories from users’ photo libraries, generating
clean snapshot images of the pieces. After the organization process, users can choose individual items to mix and match as they curate their desired outfits.
Additionally, the feature will incorporate a
‘Try it on’ functionality, allowing users to virtually preview how an outfit looks on them before they dress. Such applications demonstrate the potential of AI in enhancing digital personal styling experiences.
The launch of Wardrobe comes amid the growing trend of using technology to enhance daily life, seamlessly integrating into the existing functions of Google Photos.
