Ferrari is intensifying its efforts to surpass McLaren in the 2025 Formula 1 constructors’ championship, with team principal Fred Vasseur highlighting recent progress but underscoring the ambition to win races rather than settle for second place.

"We want to win races – we don't want to be P2. It means that we have to be focused on McLaren," Vasseur said, reflecting the team’s competitive mindset.

Ferrari’s climb into second place in the standings marks a significant improvement, especially considering the setbacks earlier in the season. Vasseur noted, "If you look at the fact we were 50 or 60 points behind Mercedes and Red Bull after China when we were disqualified, and now we are in front of them, I think that over the last four or five events we did a decent job."

Despite this progress, Ferrari acknowledges ongoing challenges, particularly in tire management. Vasseur explained, "I think that we all have the same issue of trying to perfectly understand the tires, between the compounds in terms of consistency and performance."

The team remains focused on refining its performance to close the gap on McLaren and ultimately secure race wins, signaling a determined push for the top spot in the upcoming season.

This strategic focus on tire performance and race victories will be critical as Ferrari aims to convert its recent momentum into championship success.
