This funding marks a significant milestone as it is the company's first major backing from Indian institutional investors, enhancing its global investor base that includes Yamaha Motor Co. and Toyota Ventures.1
The Bengaluru-based company plans to utilize the fresh capital to scale up production capacity at its existing manufacturing facility and establish a new greenfield plant. Additionally, the funds will support the launch of new products in the utility lifestyle segment and initiatives aimed at improving gross margins and achieving EBITDA profitability.
Since its inception in March 2021, River Mobility has focused on utility-oriented products tailored for local consumers, launching the River Indie in 2023. The company has seen steady growth, with monthly sales reaching around 5,000 units and plans to expand its retail network from over 75 stores to more than 350 stores by March 2028.456
