Embark Studios has shifted its update strategy for ARC Raiders, transitioning from monthly updates to a semi-annual schedule to prioritize impactful changes.
"Going forward, we've made the decision to release major updates twice a year, larger in scale, more impactful," noted the studio.

The upcoming update, Frozen Trail, slated for October 2026, promises significant content such as a new map and multiple new enemies.
Grondal expressed that this change comes as the studio aims to refine core systems rather than just stack content.

While major updates decrease, smaller updates, bug fixes, and live events will continue to occur frequently.
"We will continue doing bug fixes and quality-of-life updates," Grondal assured. The first new Trader feature will launch next week to enhance gameplay.

"Over time, we've found that the pressure of a monthly cycle limits how impactful these updates can be," Grondal added, highlighting the need for a long-term, engaging player experience and a need to evolve the game world significantly.
