The leaders discussed military cooperation, particularly the production of Patriot interceptor missiles in Ukraine, a crucial step in bolstering Ukraine's defense against Russian aggression.

The meeting, described as "positive and productive" by White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt, lasted just over an hour and followed a series of recent encounters between the two leaders, including discussions at NATO and G7 summits.45
This meeting comes as Kyiv and Washington are nearing a deal on joint drone production, which could enhance military technology cooperation.10
The relationship between the two leaders has improved significantly since a previous meeting where Trump publicly criticized Zelenskyy for perceived ingratitude towards U.S. support.
The U.S. continues to play a mediating role in the ongoing conflict that began with Russia's invasion of Ukraine in February 2022.
