DJI's Osmo Pocket 4P camera has made its global debut, showcasing features like 4K recording, improved battery life, and multi-person tracking. The launch event at the Cannes Film Festival aimed to position the camera as a game-changer in the market.
The Pocket 4P is equipped with a dedicated 60mm lens that excels in portrait filming, providing excellent background separation. Its ActiveTrack 8.0 technology offers smooth tracking across a zoom range of 1x to 12x, enhancing usability for creators.
Battery life has seen a significant upgrade, moving from 1,300 mAh to 1,545 mAh, allowing for longer recording sessions. DJI claims the camera can last for 210 minutes of use, although this is half an hour less than its predecessor, the Pocket 4.

The Standard Combo set is priced at £529 / €599 (about $680) in Europe, which includes a fill light, carry pouch, and a handle with a tripod thread. Despite its competitive pricing, the Pocket 4P will not be available in the U.S. until authorization is granted.
Overall, the Osmo Pocket 4P is being hailed as an almost unqualified success, with its features setting a new standard for portable cameras.
“The Osmo Pocket 4P introduces a dedicated 60mm lens and ActiveTrack 8.0, enhancing its tracking capabilities across the zoom range. Priced competitively in Europe at £529 for the Standard Combo and £605 for the Vlog Combo, it aims to attract content creators looking for flexibility and performance.”
