Quad has launched two new speakers, the Elegan 1 and Elegan 2, priced at $995 and $1,995, respectively. These models are designed as spiritual successors to the L series, incorporating advanced technology for enhanced audio performance.123
The Elegan 1 is a standmountable bookshelf speaker featuring a two-way architecture, which combines a 16.5cm mid/bass driver with a 25mm fabric-dome tweeter. In contrast, the Elegan 2 is a floorstanding speaker with a three-way design, pairing two 16.5cm bass drivers with a 12.5cm midrange driver and a 25mm fabric-dome tweeter.
Both models utilize Quad's woven Kevlar driver technology, which the company claims provides the ideal combination of low mass, rigidity, and controlled self-damping. Additionally, they are constructed with high-density MDF and strategically positioned internal bracing to minimize unwanted resonance.
