The incident occurred on Sunday morning when Vittal Hosamani, a landside security staff member, spotted the unattended black purse on a baggage trolley at around 6.15 am. He immediately alerted the CISF, which followed standard security protocols, securing the area and calling in a Bomb Detection and Disposal Squad to examine the purse for explosives.3
Upon inspection, the purse was found to contain a passport, an iPhone, a gold ring, USD 10,000, 500 UAE dirhams, bank cards, and a boarding pass. Using the boarding pass, officials contacted Shahik, who had already left the airport after his flight landed at 5.05 am.5
After verifying his identity, the purse and its contents were returned to him. Shahik expressed his gratitude through a video message, thanking the CISF and airport authorities for their prompt and professional response.8
