Carmelita Lakdesha Paul, a 12-year-old British schoolgirl, was found safe in Yokohama, Japan, after disappearing from her family's rental accommodation in Tokyo on August 13.123
Emergency services were alerted around 9:30 am on August 14 when her family discovered she was missing, prompting a major search effort.
Police reported that Carmelita left her phone behind, making it impossible for her family to contact her. She was captured on CCTV walking in the Kamata district shortly after her departure.
It is believed she boarded a train at Kamata Station, traveling approximately 20 minutes to Yokohama Station.
After spending time in internet cafes, she eventually missed her parents and sought help.45
