Breitling and Aston Martin debut three Top Time chronographs honoring the DB5, 61 years after James Bond's 'Thunderball'

Breitling and Aston Martin have launched three new Top Time chronographs that pay homage to the iconic DB5, 61 years after the release of *Thunderball*. The models are designed to capture the essence of both the watch worn by James Bond and his beloved car.¹²

The Top Time B01 Chronograph 41 Tribute to Aston Martin DB5 is available in three limited editions: a stainless steel version with a silver dial, limited to 1,022 pieces; a steel and platinum version with a black lacquered dial, limited to 315 pieces; and an 18K red gold version featuring an onyx dial, limited to 250 pieces.

In a first for Breitling, the onyx dial is crafted from a slice of real onyx, enhancing its luxury appeal. The chronographs are housed in a cushion-shaped, 100m water-resistant case that echoes the design of the *Thunderball* watch, complete with tasteful wood-grain inlays reminiscent of the DB5's steering wheel trim.³⁴

The design features a unique “squircle” shape for the chronograph subdials, inspired by dashboard instruments, and includes a brown calfskin leather strap with beige lining. The steel version boasts a sapphire caseback that reveals Breitling’s COSC-certified Manufacture Calibre B01 movement, which offers smooth column-wheel operation and a 70-hour power reserve.

The collaboration not only celebrates the legacy of Bond but also aims to attract a younger audience to the Breitling brand, much like the original Top Time did in the 1960s.
