Audrey discovered their win using the OLG app, initially mistaking the amount for $70. "I saw the winning amount on the screen, turned to Wills, and said, 'Look at this – is this $70?'" she recalled. Wills quickly corrected her, saying, "No – look again because there are so many more zeros!"4
The couple, who came to Canada with nothing, expressed their gratitude for the windfall. "We worked hard, learned to save, and never lived beyond our means. It will take a while to get used to this!" Audrey said. They plan to share their wealth with family and friends, stating, "Our family and friends will benefit from this win. We want to share and lift others up."
Their plans include building a dream home in Jamaica, renovating their kitchen in Brampton, and indulging in travel, particularly cruises in the Caribbean. Wills, a vintage car enthusiast, hopes to buy and restore classic vehicles. "Most importantly, we can live our lives on our terms," he added, as they prepare for this new chapter in their lives.
The couple's daughter had a feeling they would win, saying, "I knew it," when they shared the news with her.
