In a chilling incident in Bengaluru's Anekal area,
28-year-old Shankar allegedly beheaded his 26-year-old wife, Manasa, following a heated argument over her suspected extramarital affair.
The couple, married for over five years with a three-year-old daughter, became the center of a brutal crime that has shocked the local community.
According to police reports, after the murder, Shankar left Manasa's body inside their home and
carried her severed head on his scooter to the nearest police station, where he surrendered and confessed.
Investigations reveal the act was
premeditated. Authorities found that Shankar had purchased the sickle used in the murder from a nearby shop days before the incident, indicating prior planning.
Shankar is currently in police custody, and a case has been registered. Authorities continue to probe the circumstances surrounding the crime, including the motive and any further details.
"The accused had bought the weapon days earlier, which suggests the murder was planned," a police official stated.
