Bengaluru bike crash tragedy - speeding rider loses control, two dead

In the early hours of Tuesday, a tragic motorbike crash on Bengaluru's BGS flyover claimed two lives and left one seriously injured.

The incident occurred around 1:30 am when Akash, riding a motorbike with pillion rider Mani (also known as Sanju), was speeding down the flyover. Mani told police that Akash lost control of the bike and collided with an electric two-wheeler ahead.

"He and Akash were speeding down the flyover when Akash lost control over the motorbike and hit an electric two-wheeler that was riding in front of them," Mani reportedly said.

Emergency services responded promptly, taking the three injured individuals to Victoria Hospital. Akash was declared dead at the hospital. The other two riders, Qasim and Afzal, were transferred to a private hospital in Goraguntepalya for further treatment. Unfortunately, Afzal also succumbed to his injuries.

"Two people were killed and one person was grievously injured in a crash between two motorbikes on the BGS flyover in the early hours of Tuesday," police confirmed.

The police control room received the crash report at approximately 1:30 am, and officers quickly arrived at the scene to investigate.

This tragic event highlights the dangers of speeding and loss of control on busy flyovers, underscoring the need for increased road safety awareness and enforcement in Bengaluru.
