Bengaluru-based startup SpaceFields raises $5 million led by Globaz Technologies to scale operations and develop dual-use technologies.

Bengaluru-based startup SpaceFields has secured $5 million in a pre-Series A funding round co-led by Globaz Technologies, Rockstud Capital, and Venture Catalysts. Founded in 2021 by Apurwa Masook, Rounak Agrawal, and Sudarshan Samal, the company specializes in rocket propulsion systems for defense, aerospace, and space applications.

The funds will be utilized to scale up manufacturing, obtain vital regulatory certifications, and expand engineering and operations teams. SpaceFields has successfully secured four defense contracts through the Ministry of Defence’s iDEX initiative and has filed for ten patents related to its innovative propulsion technologies.

As part of this investment, SpaceFields and Globaz Technologies will work together to develop sovereign, dual-use technologies to enhance India’s defense and aerospace sector. According to industry reports, India’s space sector is projected to hit $40 billion by 2040. This funding will accelerate SpaceFields' mission to innovate within the burgeoning space industry.
