Audi's 2027 Q9 is set to redefine luxury SUVs with its three-row design and a starting price of $89,095. This full-size flagship, measuring nearly 17.5 feet long, is powered by a 2.9-liter V-6 engine that delivers 429 horsepower and 442 pound-feet of torque.12
The Q9's interior offers two configurations: a standard 2-3-2 setup or an optional 2-2-2 layout. It also features advanced technology, including a ChatGPT-powered voice assistant and a new Level 2 hands-free driving system for mapped roads. The Q9 is designed primarily for the U.S. market, as noted by Filip Brabec, Audi of America senior vice president of product management, who stated, "SUVs keep growing. It's over 80% of the premium space, and we have absolute top contenders in each and every part of those segments."
The Q9 will be available later this year, with the high-performance SQ9 variant starting at $119,395. The SQ9 boasts a 4.0-liter V-8 engine producing 591 horsepower and can accelerate from 0-60 mph in just 3.8 seconds. Both models can tow up to 7,700 pounds with an optional trailer hitch, making them versatile options in a competitive market.
As Audi faces challenges in the U.S. market, including a 16% drop in vehicle sales in 2025, the Q9 aims to strengthen its position in the lucrative SUV segment, which is increasingly dominated by competitors like BMW and Mercedes.
