Apple's foldable iPhone, referred to as the iPhone Duo, is generating buzz with a recent leak revealing a 4,883mAh battery. This battery is notable for being one of the largest Apple has ever included in an iPhone, surpassing the iPhone 15 Pro Max's 4,422mAh capacity.1
The battery is designed with a dual-cell setup, comprising cells of 2,962mAh and 1,921mAh. This configuration not only optimizes space within the device but also aids in maintaining a balanced weight and managing heat around the hinge area.
Charging capabilities are impressive, with the device reportedly able to charge from 0% to 50% in approximately 20 minutes using a 60W wired charger, or in about 30 minutes with Apple’s MagSafe technology. This positions the iPhone Duo competitively against other foldables, such as the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 5, which has a 4,400mAh battery.2
Despite the excitement, the iPhone Duo is not expected to hit the market until late 2026, coinciding with the launch of Apple’s iPhone 18 Pro lineup, leaving fans eagerly awaiting its arrival.
“The report indicates the device can reach 50% charge in about 20 minutes with a compatible 60W wired charger, or roughly 30 minutes via Apple MagSafe. This suggests fast-charging capabilities that may rival current flagship models.”
