Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu inaugurated the second phase of the Seed Access Road and two steel bridges at Undavalli, marking a significant step in the development of Amaravati as the state capital. The project, with an estimated cost of ₹1,519 crore, aims to enhance connectivity and support urban growth.5
During the inauguration, Naidu emphasized the vital role of farmers in the capital's development, stating, "I bow my head in reverence to the farming community of Amaravati," as he honored their contribution of 34,000 acres of land. He noted that the farmers' involvement was not just a sacrifice but a source of inspiration for the state.
The Seed Access Road E-3 will serve as a major thoroughfare connecting to Amaravati, while the two steel bridges include a 110-metre structure across the Buckingham Canal and a 280-metre bridge across the Kondaveeti Vagu and Guntur Channel. Naidu highlighted that the project is part of a broader vision to develop Amaravati into a pollution-free deep-tech capital, incorporating AI and quantum-computing hubs, with aspirations to rank among India’s top five cities.26
The Chief Minister also recalled the challenges faced during the previous government, which disrupted the capital's development, necessitating the closure of contracts and restarting construction. He expressed gratitude for the overwhelming response from farmers, who stepped forward within just 58 days of the notification, showcasing their trust in the vision for Amaravati.
The capital region will encompass Amaravati, Mangalagiri, Tadepalli, Guntur, and Vijayawada, with plans for a 190-km outer ring road and a 96-km inner ring road sanctioned by the Centre.
