The company plans to focus the Series C investment on R&D to enhance its technological edge in AI search. Liner's proprietary technology has already demonstrated its capabilities, scoring 95.3 points on OpenAI's SimpleQA Benchmark and outperforming GPT-4 in search-response generation.
Liner currently serves 14 million users across 220 countries, including the U.S., Europe, India, and Southeast Asia. As of late July 2026, it ranked 30th in global AI service web traffic, ahead of competitors like Poe and Mistral AI. Liner is also the only South Korean AI startup to be featured on Andreessen Horowitz’s Top 100 GenAI Consumer Apps list for four consecutive years since 2024.4
CEO Luke Kim emphasized that this investment is a strategic foundation for securing world-class infrastructure and talent, essential for reliability in AI agents. He stated, “Rather than depending on short-term, marketing-driven expansion, we are focused on establishing a self-sustaining business model that builds lasting value through technological leadership.”
Liner's technology has been validated through partnerships, such as supplying its AI search engine to HUMAIN, a Saudi Arabian AI corporation chaired by Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, after a rigorous benchmarking process against global tech firms.
