Suspect arrested after Switzerland rave shooting that left one dead and five injured; Italian Premier says woman killed and two others were Italian citizens

A suspect has been arrested in connection with a shooting at a rave in Aarau, Switzerland, that occurred early Sunday morning, resulting in one death and five injuries. The 43-year-old Swiss citizen was detained shortly before 1 a.m. on Monday, according to police in Aargau canton.¹²⁵⁶

The shooting claimed the life of a 22-year-old woman who succumbed to her injuries at the scene. Among the injured, four men and one woman, aged between 24 and 27, were hospitalized with injuries ranging from minor to severe. All victims are reported to be residents of Switzerland.

Italian Premier confirmed that the deceased and two other injured individuals were Italian citizens. The police have stated that investigations into a possible motive are ongoing, and they currently believe the shooting was carried out by a lone perpetrator.³
