- Tuteja's school restricted access to ChatGPT and other generative AI tools.
- Navya Tuteja, a senior at Thomas Jefferson High School for Science and Technology, is the founder of Raaha, a free platform designed to help neurodivergent job seekers understand whether a job could suit their work style before applying.
- Raaha has crossed 1,000 users and 20,000 job listings, according to Fortune.
- Tuteja launched Raaha, a free platform for neurodivergent job seekers, two months ago.
- Tuteja plans to attend college but may work on Raaha full-time if it continues to grow.
- Tuteja's idea for Raaha came from her own experiences and from watching her mother, who is hard of hearing, face challenges at work.
- She noticed that many job advertisements explained what employers wanted from candidates but gave little information about what the actual workplace and daily work might be like.
- Raaha uses information from job listings to help users assess whether a workplace may match their needs and preferences.
Navya Tuteja, a 17-year-old senior at Thomas Jefferson High School for Science and Technology, founded Raaha after her school restricted access to generative AI tools like ChatGPT. The platform, which has over 1,000 users and 20,000 job listings, helps neurodivergent job seekers evaluate job suitability based on their unique needs.234568
Tuteja's inspiration stemmed from her experiences and her mother's challenges as a hard-of-hearing employee. She observed that job listings often focus on employer requirements, neglecting to provide insights into the actual work environment. Raaha addresses this gap by allowing users to assess job listings against their preferences.

Despite her school blocking AI tools, Tuteja's interest in artificial intelligence flourished. She stated, “I try to do all my learning myself, especially for stuff I have exams for.” Tuteja has also developed a proposed transparency standard called Traceable Accessibility and is working on Legible, a tool to simplify special-education documents for families.
Currently, Raaha remains free, and Tuteja is considering dedicating herself to the startup full-time if it continues to grow. She believes that while AI is a powerful tool, it should be used responsibly, stating, “People don’t think you had any thought behind it” when they learn AI was involved in a project.
“Raaha's quiz analyzes job listings against factors like work style, helping candidates preview daily work before applying. Tuteja, who wrote the algorithm herself, also leads her school's AI club and developed Legible, a tool to simplify special-education documents for families.”
