Salman Khan's film on Colonel Bikumalla Santosh Babu to start filming in July 2025

Salman Khan is set to portray Colonel Bikumalla Santosh Babu, a hero of the 16 Bihar Regiment, in an upcoming war film directed by Apoorva Lakhia. The film is based on the book 'India's Most Fearless 3' by Shiv Aroor and Rahul Singh, which highlights remarkable acts of valor by Indian soldiers.

Colonel Babu was posthumously awarded the Maha Vir Chakra for his bravery during the 2020 Galwan Valley clash. Salman is committed to an intense training regimen to authentically portray the physical and emotional demands of the role. He acknowledges the significance of honoring Colonel Babu's legacy, stating, “He’s not just preparing to carry the weight of the uniform — he’s carrying the weight of the story.”

Filming is scheduled to commence in July 2025, with a theatrical release anticipated in the first half of 2026. Given the high-altitude challenges of shooting in Leh, Salman is preparing rigorously to meet the physical demands of the role, emphasizing the importance of accurately representing a decorated Army officer.
