Raid 2 collects ₹228 crore worldwide; Ileana praises Vaani Kapoor's graceful replacement

Raid 2, the sequel to the acclaimed film Raid, has made a significant impact at the box office, collecting ₹228 crore worldwide within its first month of release.

Directed by Raj Kumar Gupta, the film features Ajay Devgn, Riteish Deshmukh, and Vaani Kapoor in lead roles, supported by Rajat Kapoor, Saurabh Shukla, Supriya Pathak, and Amit Sial.

Originally, Ileana was offered a role in Raid 2 but had to decline due to scheduling conflicts following the birth of her child. She expressed her fondness for the original film and the character Malini, stating, "Raid was a special film, and Malini was such a special character to play."

Despite stepping away, Ileana praised Vaani Kapoor, who replaced her, saying, "I think Vaani looked lovely in all the promos I've seen and I'm sure she brought her own lovely charm to her character." This endorsement helped clarify any confusion regarding the casting change.

The film's strong ensemble cast and direction have contributed to its commercial success, reinforcing the franchise's popularity among audiences.

"Working with my director, Raj Kumar Gupta, was a wonderful experience, as was working with Ajay again," Ileana added, highlighting the collaborative spirit behind the project.
