Ketan Morea and Jayesh linked to 65 crore Mithi River scam probe by Mumbai Police

The Mumbai Police's Economic Offences Wing (EOW) has linked actor Ketan Morea and his brother Santino to a 65 crore scam involving the desilting of the Mithi River. The probe centers on alleged financial irregularities in the rental of silt pusher machines and dredging equipment by the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC).

Ketan Morea is the director of Woder India LLP, a Mumbai-based company specializing in desilting services, while Jayesh is connected to Virgo Specialties Pvt Ltd, an industrial product manufacturer also based in Mumbai.

"Actor and his brother Santino were on Monday questioned by the Economic Offences Wing (EOW) of the Mumbai Police in the alleged 65 crore Mithi River desilting scam," sources said.

The investigation intensified after call records and financial transactions linked to the accused were scrutinized, revealing further connections, including a person named Dino.

"Reportedly, the scam is about alleged financial irregularities in the rental of silt pusher machines as well as dredging equipment by the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC)," officials noted.

The probe highlights concerns over the misuse of public funds in environmental maintenance projects, with the EOW actively pursuing leads to uncover the full extent of the scam.

This case underscores the growing scrutiny of municipal contracts and the importance of transparency in public works.
