Harbhajan Singh clarifies he never pressured Geeta Basra to leave Bollywood

Basra explained, "Actually, when I met Bhajji, I had just started my career. I was new to India and to the industry itself. Back then, the mindset was very different—you couldn't be seen or associated with a guy publicly." She revealed that this conservative outlook extended beyond audiences to producers, directors, and actors, which led to her losing four film projects due to assumptions about her impending marriage.

She added, "With no godfather in the industry, it was difficult to convince them otherwise. But times have changed, thankfully."

Harbhajan Singh clarified his stance, emphasizing that Basra's decision to leave Bollywood was entirely her own. "He emphasized that he never imposed any expectations on her and respected her choice to step away from the limelight."
