RackBank CEO confirms AI SEZ in Nava Raipur to create diverse tech jobs

The Chhattisgarh government is establishing India’s first AI-centric Special Economic Zone (SEZ) in Nava Raipur, aiming to position the region as a digital powerhouse.

Spanning six acres, the RackBank SEZ will feature a 1.5 lakh square foot facility housing high-density data centres with an 80 megawatt capacity. This infrastructure is designed to support large-scale AI research, development, and deployment.

"The government has given tax and other legal exemptions to the SEZ so that new technologies can be developed rapidly," a senior official said, highlighting the favorable environment for innovation.

The SEZ is expected to attract major global technology firms such as Google, OpenAI, Microsoft, and Meta, leveraging tax incentives and relaxed regulations.

RackBank CEO Narendra Sen stated, "The centre will offer roles for IT engineers, data scientists, cybersecurity experts, and network professionals." This initiative promises to create diverse tech jobs, particularly benefiting youth from districts like Kanker, Sukma, Bilaspur, and Dantewada.

By providing world-class employment opportunities locally, the project aims to reduce migration to metropolitan hubs like Bengaluru, fostering regional socio-economic growth.
