Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini has outlined a vision to transform the state into a global knowledge economy hub by reshaping its education system. This initiative is grounded in the principles of ‘Re-design, Re-imagine and Re-invest’, aiming to align with the National Education Policy (NEP).1234

During a recent address at Guru Jambheshwar University of Science and Technology (GJUST), Saini highlighted that comprehensive reforms have been implemented across state universities and affiliated colleges. He inaugurated projects worth Rs 7.58 crore, including a Rs 6-crore girls’ hostel and a Rs 1.40-crore Nursing Department building to enhance healthcare education.

Saini emphasized that the goal of higher education is not just to award degrees but to cultivate a society that is ethical, sensitive, and technologically competent. He stated, “These institutions should emerge as centres of research and innovation, serving as a bridge between local industries and global technologies.”

The CM also noted that Haryana is preparing its youth for sectors like artificial intelligence, green technologies, and cyber security through skill-based education. The Haryana State Research Fund, launched last year with an allocation of Rs 20 crore, received over 350 research proposals in 2025-26, with nearly 90 proposals shortlisted. An additional Rs 20 crore has been allocated for the current financial year to support this initiative.

Under the Haryana Skill Development Mission, more than 1.56 lakh youth have received skill training, fostering self-reliance and preparing them for the job market.
