Accel has raised $550 million for its ninth early-stage India fund, enhancing its focus on AI, fintech, and advanced manufacturing. This fund is part of a broader $3.5 billion fundraising initiative across four global vehicles, aimed at supporting early-stage startups.
The new India fund follows the $650 million Fund VIII launched in January 2025, with over half of that capital still available for investment. Accel plans to begin deploying from Fund IX in 2027, continuing its strategy of investing in companies from the pre-seed stage through Series A.
Accel's investment strategy highlights the potential of Indian startups in AI applications, infrastructure, and enterprise software, leveraging existing large language models. The firm has identified promising sectors such as electronics, aerospace, defense, and high-precision manufacturing as key areas for growth.
